January Gardening Events & Family Fun

Want to make a resolution that’s well within reach? Then pledge to spend time in 2012 appreciating and exploring the natural world. And if you’re a parent, it’s never too early to pass this on to the little ones as well!

The January list of Gardening Events In & Around Philadelphia features tours, walks, and even a primer on outdoor photography. Dress for the weather and you’ll be blown away at just how beautiful places like Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve and the Haverford College Arboretum are this time of year.

As for the kids, this month offers programs for those as young as two (and up to 12 and older). The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education has an Owl Prowl on Saturday, January 28 that should delight the Harry Potter fans in your household. In all there are three-plus pages in the January Events for Children and Families.

Start fresh this year!

November Gardening Events In & Around Philly

Yesterday was the debut of Strange Beauties, the succulent exhibition staged in the PHS McLean Library. With it comes a number of free presentations, which you can check out here. You can also see photos of the exhibit on the PHS Facebook page.

Looking beyond the PHS building, there are great workshops and lectures offered across the region. To broaden your horizons and perhaps start a new hobby, we present November Gardening & Greening Events. Let us know what you attend and how you like it.
